Dr.Danger: Somalia
In this video, Dr. Bob Arnot travels to Mogadishu to document the lives and hardships Somalis endure as the bloody saga of civil war, human suffering and instability rips the country apart. The documentary was made before the Ethiopian Invasion and of course, things have gone much worse now. Somalia is today the world’s worst humanitarian crisis and a peace-deal signed by the Alliance for the Re-liberation of Somalia and the Transitional Federal Government and their Ethiopian allies (Read Handlers) yesterday offers no concrete plans for peace and reconciliation. After numerous attempts to reconcile the many warring parties in this war-torn nation, the Somali people have rightly learned not to expect too much from these dubious and manipulative deals designed for the most part simply to fill the pockets of the warlords and their supporters with UN money as the millions of Somalis displaced and effected by this vicious circle of violence continue to endure the painful consequences of war.
